Overview
Resort Barrière Lille is a five-star hotel in the centre of Lille. By its own account it is 5 minutes on foot from the Lille Europe and Lille Flandres stations and 10 minutes from the Grand'Place. The casino is part of the property: the hotel presents Casino Barrière Lille as entertainment to enjoy "while staying in the hotel", and its fact sheet lists a "casino integrated into the resort". The Barrière group dates the Lille resort to 2010 and describes it as the first in France to bring a casino, restaurants, a five-star hotel, a wellness area, meeting rooms and a 1,200-seat theatre together in one place. The building, with large glass walls, was designed by the architect J.P. Viguier, and the rooms by Pierre-Yves Rochon.1, 2, 3, 14, 15
The casino is inside the resort and opens every day from 10 a.m. to 4 a.m. It admits adults only, on presentation of a valid identity document.2, 14
The resort's theatre has 1,200 seats and stages about sixty shows a year, dinner shows among them.7, 14
The Cinq Mondes spa on the fourth floor comes with a hammam, a sauna and a fitness room. Use of the fitness room, hammam and sauna is included in a stay.1, 5

The hotel has 142 rooms, 17 of them suites, with large windows and king-size beds. Superior rooms measure 26 square metres, Deluxe rooms 28 square metres with a view over the Parc des Dondaines, and Executive rooms 32 square metres with a view of the town hall belfry. The Junior Suite measures 55 square metres and connects with a second room, which the hotel suggests for families. The Suite Supérieure, at 57 square metres, has a separate lounge. The resort counts five restaurants and bars. Les Hauts de Lille is its gastronomic restaurant. La Terrasse du Parc, on the ground floor between the casino and the hotel, serves regional and seasonal dishes at lunch from noon to 2.30 p.m. and at dinner from 7 p.m. to 10.30 p.m., with a brunch on Sundays and a heated terrace facing the park. L'Escal'777, the hotel bar, is open every day from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Two more bars sit inside the casino: Le Café des Sports, open from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., and Le Bar Lounge, open every evening from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Room service runs around the clock, with a 15 per cent supplement between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
- Wellness and leisure
The wellness area covers 150 square metres on the fourth floor. The Cinq Mondes spa has two treatment rooms and offers massages, facials and body treatments, with a hammam, a sauna and a herbal tea room alongside. The spa is closed on Tuesdays. The fitness room has Technogym equipment and is reserved for guests of the resort.5, 6, 14

The hotel puts itself 5 minutes on foot from the Lille Europe and Lille Flandres stations. It quotes train journeys of 1 hour from Paris, 35 minutes from Brussels and 1 hour 20 minutes from London, and about 2 hours 30 minutes by car from Paris. Its fact sheet gives 15 minutes to Lille-Lesquin airport. The concierge can arrange transfers to and from the stations and nearby airports.1, 14

The underground car park has 600 spaces and takes vehicles under 1.80 metres high. Spaces cannot be reserved. The hotel gives the rate as 28 euros per night and per vehicle. Valet parking is available at extra charge.1
