Overview

Casinò di Sanremo stands at Corso degli Inglesi 18 in the centre of town, linked to Piazza Colombo by the pedestrian Via Matteotti. The building, in the Art Nouveau and Deco style, was designed by the French architect Eugène Ferret and inaugurated in January 1905. The national tourist board describes it as one of the four casinos in Italy. Besides the gaming rooms it holds a theatre with 400 seats, and the Italian Song Festival began in the casino in 1951. There are several restaurants and bars, among them the Roof Garden terrace and a bistro that opens every evening at 7 p.m. According to the national tourist board, the casino also organises guided tours of its rooms.2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12
