Overview

Bellagio is a hotel of MGM Resorts International at 3600 Las Vegas Boulevard South, on the Las Vegas Strip, where Las Vegas Boulevard meets Flamingo. It opened on 15 October 1998 and has 3,933 guest rooms, 510 of them suites. The hotel overlooks a lake of about 8.5 acres (3.4 hectares) on which the Fountains of Bellagio perform. The casino is part of the hotel itself: the resort's fact sheet lists a casino among the hotel's facilities, next to its restaurants, pools, spa and theatre. The Nevada Gaming Control Board lists the gaming location under the name Bellagio, and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority files the hotel under casino resorts.1, 2, 4, 5

Rooms

The hotel counts 3,933 guest rooms, including 510 suites. Its Spa Tower opened on 23 December 2004. Some rooms belong to the Restore by MGM category, fitted with air purification, aromatherapy and shower filters that reduce chlorine. The visitors authority's listing notes in-room Wi-Fi, a safe, a hair dryer and an iron, as well as room service.1, 4

Dining

The fact sheet lists fifteen venues under elevated dining. Among them are CARBONE Riviera for seafood and Italian dishes, LAGO by Julian Serrano for Italian cooking from breakfast to dinner, Prime for steak and seafood, Spago, the Chinese restaurant Jasmine, the Japanese restaurant Yellowtail and The Buffet at Bellagio. The Garden Table serves brunch and dinner inside the Conservatory. Casual places include Bellagio Patisserie, Café Gelato and Palio for pastries and coffee. Petrossian Lounge serves afternoon tea, and guests under 21 may join it; the hotel's other bars and lounges are for guests aged 21 and over.1

Wellness and leisure

There are five outdoor pools, four whirlpools and 51 private cabanas in a Mediterranean courtyard setting; the Cypress Pool is for adults only. Spa Bellagio covers 55,000 square feet (about 5,100 square metres) with 51 treatment rooms and is open daily, as is Salon Bellagio. The Fitness Center of 6,000 square feet (about 560 square metres) overlooks the pool and gardens, and its Bamboo Studio holds classes from Pilates to yoga and boxing.1

Getting there

The visitors authority's listing places Bellagio 3 miles (about 4.8 km) from Harry Reid International Airport, at Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo. The Deuce bus stops at nearly every resort on the Strip. Taxis in Las Vegas cannot be hailed on the street and pick up at hotel taxi lines.4, 6, 7
