Overview

Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy is a five-star hotel in the centre of Deauville, a few metres from the sea and the Planches boardwalk. It was built in 1912 in the Anglo-Norman half-timbered style. According to the Barrière group, Eugène Cornuché, who launched the construction of the casino, also had the hotel built to house its visitors, and the casino was inaugurated in the summer of 1912. Barrière presents its three Deauville hotels and its two local casinos as parts of one resort. The casino itself is about 150 metres away on foot.^{1, 12, 13, 14, 15}

Rooms

The hotel counts 229 rooms and 40 suites, including seven family apartments. Walls are hung with toile de Jouy, and rooms look onto the sea, the town or the garden courtyard called the Cour Normande. Superior rooms measure 26 square metres and the Presidential Suite 100 square metres. Several room types can be booked as connecting pairs.^{1, 2, 12}

Dining

Belle Époque, the hotel restaurant, serves classic French cuisine. Dinner is served every day from 7.30 p.m. to 10 p.m., lunch at weekends and daily during Paris school holidays, and a brunch on Sundays from 12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. The restaurant asks guests to dress smartly. The Bar du Normandy is open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight, and until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with food served from noon. It does not take table reservations.^{7, 8}

Wellness and leisure

The Guerlain spa has six treatment rooms and a manicure and pedicure area. A treatment includes access to the indoor pool, the hammam and the sauna. The spa is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and until 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The fitness room has Technogym equipment, overlooks the pool and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.^{4, 5, 6}

Getting there

The hotel puts itself 10 minutes on foot from Trouville-Deauville station. It quotes train journeys of 2 hours from Paris, 3 hours 20 minutes from Brussels and 4 hours 15 minutes from London, and about 3 hours by car from Paris.¹
