Overview

THE FLORIS is the new name of the former Hotel am Sophienpark. Its main building at Sophienstraße 14 is being renovated and is scheduled to reopen in spring 2027. Until then the hotel receives guests in its annex at Rettigstraße 1, next to the hotel park. The annex has 15 air-conditioned rooms.^{1, 2}

Rooms

The 15 rooms come in four categories: Queen (25 to 31 square metres), Superior (29 to 35), Deluxe (41 to 42) and Grand Deluxe (42 to 45). All have air conditioning, a minibar, a coffee machine and a rain shower. A lift serves the first and second floors, while the Queen rooms on the third floor are reached by stairs only.^{1, 2}

Dining

Breakfast is a buffet served in the annex from 7 to 10.30 a.m., and until 11 a.m. on Sundays. The hotel's restaurant, 1733, is planned for the main building and set to open in spring 2027. Until then it operates as a food trailer and catering service.^{1, 4, 5}

Getting there

Check-in is at Rettigstraße 1, although the official address is Sophienstraße 14. The hotel sends a map with the booking confirmation, and cars can stop in front of the entrance in the parking garage to load and unload.^{1, 3}

• The hotel puts the Caracalla Spa and the Friedrichsbad 450 metres away, through the pedestrian zone.¹

• The annex is directly beside Sophienpark.¹

• In the hotel's words, Museum Frieder Burda and the Staatliche Kunsthalle are almost within sight.¹

Good to know

• Check-in is from 3 p.m. and check-out by noon. Luggage can be left at the hotel before check-in.¹

• Parking in the hotel's garage costs 25 euros per night, and an e-charging station is opposite the entrance of the annex.^{1, 3}

• One dog per room is allowed, for 35 euros per night. Dogs may not enter the dining room.¹

• The hotel is non-smoking.¹

• Cots are free of charge, and an extra bed costs 50 euros per night.¹
