Overview

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is an all-suite resort at 3355 Las Vegas Boulevard South, built as a re-creation of Venice with canals, gondolas, frescoes and a hand-painted ceiling in its Grand Colonnade. It has two hotel towers, The Venetian and The Palazzo, which the resort describes as two hotels under one ceiling with 7,167 suites between them. The casino is inside the resort: the resort speaks of the casino floor of The Venetian, its directions from The Venetian lobby lead across that floor, and its contact page gives the property's name as The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority writes that winding canals, gondolas and marble floors surround a casino. The Grand Canal Shoppes are part of the complex, and a bridge connects the resort directly to Sphere.2, 4, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16

  • The Venetian casino floor is inside the resort and connected to the casino floor of The Palazzo.14

  • Every room is a suite with a separate living area. Standard Luxury Suites measure 650 to 750 square feet (about 60 to 70 square metres).3

  • Gondolas with singing gondoliers run on an indoor route along the Grand Canal and on an outdoor route facing the Strip.10

  • Grand Canal Shoppes is an 875,000 square foot (about 81,300 square metre) mall with 160 stores along a quarter-mile canal.12

  • A direct bridge connects the resort to Sphere, and the resort calls itself the nearest hotel to the venue.13

Hotel details

Rooms

All 7,167 accommodations in The Venetian and The Palazzo are suites, each with a living area separate from the sleeping area. Standard Luxury Suites range from 650 to 750 square feet (about 60 to 70 square metres); Premium, Grand and Executive Suites range from 940 to 3,204 square feet (about 87 to 298 square metres). Every suite has an Italian marble bathroom with a Roman tub and separate shower, several televisions and high-speed internet access. The usual bed layouts are one king or two queens, and many suites have a pull-out couch. Suites do not come with coffee makers or microwaves. Views of the Strip, the city, the mountains or Sphere can be requested but are not guaranteed.2, 3

Dining

The resort counts more than 25 restaurants, bars and cocktail lounges. It recommends reservations, especially for its fine dining and celebrity chef restaurants, while casual places accept walk-ins. Fine dining restaurants typically ask for business casual or resort elegant dress. Most restaurants welcome children, though lounges and fine dining rooms may set age limits at certain hours. More restaurants line the Grand Canal Shoppes, among them BRERA Osteria with pasta and wood-fired pizza.1, 7, 12

Wellness and leisure

Canyon Ranch Spa, which holds four stars from Forbes Travel Guide, offers massage, beauty and wellness services and is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Its fitness centre has free weights, cardio machines, exercise classes and a 40-foot (about 12 metre) rock-climbing wall. The fitness centres in The Venetian North Tower and The Palazzo open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the one in The Venetian South Tower around the clock. Day passes cost hotel guests 100 US dollars from Monday to Thursday and 150 US dollars from Friday to Sunday. Full access to the spa facilities is for guests aged 18 and over. The resort lists 11 outdoor pools, on pool decks at The Venetian and The Palazzo with cabanas, daybeds and lounge chairs.1, 8, 9

Getting there

The Venetian parking garage is reached from Las Vegas Boulevard or by a shared access road off Koval Lane behind the hotel; The Palazzo garage is reached from Sands Avenue. Both towers have valet services and ride-share pick-up and drop-off areas. The resort notes that the Las Vegas Monorail can be boarded at Harrah's, with trains to the Las Vegas Convention Center and to MGM, and that the monorail does not run all night.6
