Villa Augeval

Overview

Villa Augeval is a boutique hotel and spa set in two heritage-classed villas with almond-green half-timbering, close to the racecourse, Les Franciscaines and the town centre. The first villa dates from the end of the 19th century and joined the Montier family's business in 1993. A second, adjacent villa was added in 2004, and a veranda links the two. The Normandy tourist board counts 42 rooms. Categories run from a 12 square metre solo room to a 46 square metre suite, with family rooms and family suites of 31 square metres. All rooms are air-conditioned and non-smoking, and some have a balcony or a garden view.^{3, 6, 7}

Dining

Breakfast is served as a buffet or in the room, from 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m., and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at weekends and during school holidays. Room service brings snacks and meals to the room. For other meals the hotel points to the restaurants around it.^{1, 6}

Wellness and leisure

The Augeval Spa, on the ground floor, is open to non-residents and is booked for private use at extra charge. It has a jacuzzi, a sauna, a hammam and a hydrojet table, and offers massages and face and body treatments. The outdoor pool in the garden is heated, during the summer season according to the tourist board.^{1, 4, 7}

Getting there

Trouville-Deauville station is about 1.5 kilometres away, a 15-minute walk, or a taxi ride. Deauville Saint-Gatien airport is about 8 kilometres away and Caen Carpiquet airport about 70 kilometres. The nearest bus stop is Église.⁵

• The church of Saint-Augustin is the landmark for the hotel entrance. An organic market is held on the square around the church every Thursday morning.^{5, 8}

Good to know

• Check-in is from 4 p.m. and check-out until 11.30 a.m. The reception is available around the clock; after 9 p.m. guests phone the hotel to have the door opened.⁶

• There is no private car park. Parking is free in the adjacent streets, and there is a car park at the Square de l'Église a few steps away.⁶

• Bicycles can be stored in a secure garage.⁶
